Meeting the client brief

- The brief stated that they need a music video that is the full duration of the song and is made up of 70% original content. Clips that are taken from online need to be uncopyrighted footage that needs to be referenced.

I have gathered most of clips from my camera so is original content that I have collected myself. However I do have clips from online where I have collected from the @Crucast and the @DnBallstars Instagram accounts, I have made it clear where I have collected these from. I have also made sure to gather enough footage to fill out the whole length of the video.

- The video need to be narrative, concept or performance

The video I have made is a concept video because the artist does not appear in the video and there is no storyline to follow throughout. the definition of concept is "Concept music videos are videos without a storyline and typically no relevance to the lyrics themselves" which is what my video follows whilst keeping relevance to the music genre. The video has has different scenes form different party setting that have no particular order in timings and no storyline in each setting. The effects from these settings are mostly a montage effect the summarise what goes on at a house party

- The music video will have to fit the songs genre of music and fit the conventions of the genre

The genre of my chosen song is drum and bass, where the target audience usually is usually people aged 18-25 who go to night clubs and people who like to go to parties. In my video the setting is at a house party that have a DJ decks so that the target audience are engaged. There are also clips that I have got from the internet of actual drum and bass DJs performing in clubs, where the crowd of the clubs is my target audience.

-  The video must comply with the correct legislation/regulations and must not exceed the 12a BBFC rating

I have had to be able to create the video to target the right audience which is 18-25, whilst still complying with the 12a restrictions, I have still been able to add alcoholic drinks into my video because it is ok to be seen in a 12a video. 1 convention of drum and bass target audience is love, sex and drugs. I have decided not to add any of these into my music video because the video will have become above the 12a restriction.

- there must be 2 versions uploaded when editing is completed:

                          -Full HD master version

                          -compressed mp4 version for YouTube

I have saved 2 different versions of my final edit. I have uploaded one version to Showbie which is the one to be shown at the MUSIC VIDEO VAMP music festival. The other I have uploaded to YouTube on my channel called Jack Devonald.

- did you stick to deadlines and stick to your work plans and your production schedule

I originally decided to start filming shits for my music video on the 17th of December 2022 however the actors I planned to be in the video where on holiday or unable to attend for other reasons. I decided to delay filming util the 6th of January 2023 to make sure all the actors are around for shooting. And the a week afterwards I gathered shots for a different house party scene at Millies hose on the 13th of January 2023
